Finally! I've finished this sucker. It was an odd, ridiculously time-consuming experiment...trying to make some sort of cut-n-paste cloisonné thing solely with textures. I love the effect, though, and I'd do it again, if I can find a way to make the process faster.
This began months ago when I was fangirling over children's book illustrators, and showing my niece how to play old-school Ocarina of Time. As she cleverly pointed out, this poor guy has been running around saving the world since the 80's and never gets to eat, sleep, or even take off his boots. And you know those boots are nasty after twenty years. T_T ---------------------- - Link, Epona, and Volvagia are, of course, (c) Nintendo - Metal textures are from cgtextures and/or mayang - The idea for using them in this way came from browsing ~bluefooted's lovely gallery and a brief making-of feature that she put together here. |

Haha. Me and my friends always notice that. Especially with Mario. One of the Nes (i think) games ends with him, Peach, and Luigi going on a "vacation" in a hot air balloon, and the next game, Super Mario World (SNES) starts with them in a hot air balloon. Poor Heroes never get a break. ><
